At Panorama, protecting student and educator data has always been foundational to our work. Schools trust us with sensitive information every day, and we take that responsibility seriously, building privacy and security into the core of our platform from the very beginning.

That’s why we’re proud to share that Panorama Education has been awarded the Common Sense Privacy Seal, earning a 93% privacy rating and placing Panorama among the top-rated education technology platforms evaluated by Common Sense Media.

This recognition comes at an important moment. As schools adopt more digital tools—including AI-powered technologies—the Common Sense Privacy Seal reflects the high standard districts should expect from any platform handling district data and affirms Panorama’s longstanding commitment to protecting that information with care and rigor.

What is the Common Sense Privacy Seal?

The Common Sense Privacy Seal helps schools, families, and educators identify products that meet rigorous privacy criteria and follow best practices for protecting personal information.

Companies earning the Seal are independently reviewed for responsible data practices, clear policies, and strong safeguards around how information is collected, used, and stored.

For districts navigating an increasingly complex digital landscape, this kind of trusted third-party verification offers meaningful reassurance that student privacy is being safeguarded through strong, verified practices.

What the Seal Represents

To qualify for the Seal, companies must demonstrate strong privacy protections aligned with key consumer and student safety expectations. These include commitments such as:

  • No sale of data to third parties
  • No third-party marketing using customer data
  • No targeted advertising based on personal information
  • No third-party tracking across websites
  • No cross-app tracking of user activity
  • No commercial profiling of users

These principles reflect the privacy-first approach Panorama has prioritized for years: protecting sensitive student information and maintaining transparency with our school partners.

Panorama's Ongoing Commitment to Data Privacy

As more educational tools enter classrooms, and as AI becomes more common, district leaders are asking important questions about data use, oversight, and long-term safeguards. Schools deserve technology partners who treat privacy as essential infrastructure.

As Ali Levy, Chief of Staff to Panorama’s Technology team, shared, “We believe AI in schools must be safe by design. That’s why Panorama products are built with privacy and security at the core—upholding best-in-class standards districts can rely on.”

The Common Sense Privacy Seal offers independent confirmation of that commitment, helping districts more easily identify platforms that meet high expectations for student data protection. We’re proud to be included among the organizations setting that bar.

This recognition also builds on Panorama’s longstanding work to meet and exceed major privacy and security standards, including FERPA, COPPA, SOC 2 compliance, 1EdTech Data Privacy Certification, and applicable state student data privacy laws.

Looking Ahead

Receiving this recognition is a meaningful milestone for our team, and it strengthens our ongoing commitment to the districts we serve. We will continue investing in strong privacy practices, secure systems, and transparent partnerships, so district leaders can move forward with confidence in the tools they rely on every day.
