AI in Special Education
Discover how Mesquite ISD uses AI to enhance IEP quality, reduce documentation time, and provide personalized student support in special education.
Panorama Education is the leading platform for student insight and action in K-12 education. Panorama partners with districts and states to serve more than 15 million students across 25,000 schools and 2,000 districts nationwide.
By connecting academics, attendance, behavior, and engagement in a unified solution, Panorama gives educators the full picture of every student. With AI grounded in district context, educators can quickly understand what’s happening, why it matters, and what to do next—so they can take faster, more effective action across instruction, student support, special education, and graduation pathways.
This leads to higher student achievement and better preparation for life beyond the classroom. Backed by secure, research-based technology and hands-on professional development, Panorama is how the modern school system drives student success.
Panorama’s core products include:
Aaron Feuer founded Panorama Education in 2012, while still an undergraduate at Yale University, alongside Alexander Tanner and David Carel. Their goal was to tangibly improve student outcomes.
After graduating in 2013, the founders developed the business in Y Combinator and raised their first $4 million round in the same year. In 2017, Panorama closed a $16 million round of Series B funding, led by Emerson Collective. In 2021, Panorama closed a $60 million Series C round, led by General Atlantic.
The Panorama team has steadily built its product suite, starting with the launch of Panorama Surveys in 2012. The company then launched Panorama Student Success in 2017. In 2023, Panorama acquired Mesa Cloud, now known as Panorama Pathways. 2024 marked the launch of Panorama Solara, and in 2025, Panorama acquired Class Companion.
Panorama’s mission is to improve education for every student.
Panorama’s leadership and staff members are subject matter experts in:
In April 2026, Panorama Education’s district-managed AI solution, Panorama Solara, was named the winner of the Trendsetter Award in the “product or service setting a trend” category at the 2026 EdTech Awards. It was also named a Cool Tool Award finalist for “best artificial intelligence (AI) solution.” This recognition highlights Panorama’s commitment to building AI tools that help educators surface the right insights and take timely action while protecting student data.
Panorama Education recently earned the highly coveted Common Sense Privacy Seal, achieving an exceptional 93% rating. Receiving this rating places Panorama among the top-rated education technology platforms evaluated by Common Sense Media. This recognition builds on Panorama’s longstanding work to meet and exceed major privacy and security standards, including FERPA, COPPA, SOC 2 Type II compliance, 1EdTech Data Privacy Certification, and applicable state student privacy laws, cementing its promise to protect student and educator data.
Panorama Education is a platform that brings together academics, attendance, behavior, graduation progress, and student voice into a single connected view, helping school districts see the whole picture of their students. Panorama surfaces trends and insights that allow districts to act on this information confidently, ultimately connecting the dots between data, insights, and action to improve student support and learning.
Panorama integrates with many leading student information systems (SIS), learning management systems, behavior systems, state assessments, and benchmark and universal assessments. To connect these tools, Panorama has two main integration methods:
Direct access: Panorama syncs with your software nightly via secure APIs and automated data exports.
Secure file transfer: Your district provides data file exports that our team imports to Panorama via Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP).
Panorama does not market, sell, or rent student data to third parties, nor do they use student data to train public AI models. All data belongs entirely to the school districts using the platform. Panorama is FERPA-, COPPA-, and SOC 2 Type II-compliant, protecting student data at every step.
Unlike generic enterprise data tools or open-source AI, Panorama Education is built exclusively for K-12 school districts. We leverage our education expertise to develop solutions that address the needs of districts, schools, educators, administrators, and students. Additionally, we pair your school or district’s data with tailored recommendations to help you take the next steps to improve student outcomes.
