Recap: Panorama Education Hackathon 2014

Just last week, our team completed the very first, company-wide Panorama Hackathon! For 24 consecutive hours, we coded, designed, tweeted and presented entirely new product ideas. The goal of the Panorama Hackathon was simple: to spend a day in small groups, actively creating new (and fun!) projects that could become actual features used by educators.

The day began with brainstorming and a team huddle over coffee (an important ingredient to any successful hackathon!). Once our groups were formed, the hackathon officially kicked off and lasted well into the night. Some groups ideated on features specifically for teachers, while others spent time designing products to be used at the district-level.

A few of the Panorama Hackathon 2014 projects:

  • New data visualization features for district and school leaders
  • Personalized recommendations for continuing professional development
  • Interactive guides for choosing reliable survey questions
  • District goal-setting features paired with interactive reports
  • Coordinating community meet-ups for educators and technologists
  • Stay tuned, as we'll be releasing new features publicly soon!

Sound like fun? We're hiring.

We're always looking for new members to join the Panorama team. So if you're interested in working on big challenges in education and participating in our next hackathon, then head over to our website to learn more about job opportunities at Panorama Education.
